Yes. Scugog Island, including Island Road and the waterfront lanes, and the Caesarea shoreline are both on our regular Scugog routing. How should I set up propane for a Lake Scugog cottage?
For a seasonal property, the usual setup is a 100 lb cylinder pair or a 420 lb tank, with a fill timed to your spring opening and a top-up before you close in the autumn. If you are converting a cottage to year-round use, you will almost certainly need to move up to a 500 gallon tank and switch to automatic delivery — a cottage-sized tank running a furnace through a Kawartha winter will not make it between fills.
How much does propane cost per litre in Ontario?
There is no published residential delivered propane price for Ontario — the Ontario Energy Board does not regulate propane and Statistics Canada does not survey it. Your rate is set per account based on annual volume, contract type, delivery distance and tank arrangement. Why is my propane tank only filled to 80%?
Liquid propane expands as it warms, so tanks are filled to 80% of their water capacity to leave vapour space for expansion — a safety requirement under Ontario’s propane code. A gauge reading of 80% means your tank is full. This matters especially for seasonal properties: a tank filled on a cold October morning will read higher on a warm spring day, and that is expansion, not an error.
